Montreux sits on the shores of Lake Geneva and for the last 14 years has hosted one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the world. From the 27th November the streets and chalets of Montreux become adorned with decorations and illuminations, and the spirit of Christmas engulfs the town. The market itself runs along the lakeside promenade, with 150 vendors selling a variety of products, a ferris wheel and ice skating rink. For nourishment and refreshment there is a Swiss chalet that serves mulled wine, Swiss food and this year due to the theme of the Christmas market Swedish specialities.  
For families a trip to Santa's grotto is an absolute must, situated up the Rocheur de Naye mountain above Montreux and overlooking Lake Geneva. After the cog train ride up to this winter wonderland, take in the views from this spectacular view point, visit the Marmot's viewing centre and the children can visit Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas. To ensure you make the most of your stay, you will receive a FREE Riviera card for your visit. The Riviera Card entitles you to FREE travel on the VMCV bus network, 50% reduction on MOB trains that include many of the train excursions, as well as a 50% reduction on entry to the famous Chateau de Chillon and other museums. 

Essential information
Arrive any day of the week and stay for any duration at the 4C Golf Hotel René Capt or the 4C+ Hotel Eden au Lac. Prices include half board accommodation, and flights. Transfers are by Swiss Rail, you will receive a Swiss Card for your transfers with your documentation.
